2028 Games Mobility Concept Plan (MCP) - Los Angeles County, CA
MEGA-EVENT TRANSPORTATION PLANNING
TransLink has supported multiple workstreams for the anticipated Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games by conducting initial planning efforts for Metro’s MCP, including operational strategies, advancing potential legacy projects and grant writing, and accessibility elements for the Games. TransLink also developed operational strategies for the Games Enhanced Transit System (GETS) to address anticipated spectator and workforce transport.
Eastside Phase 2 Transit Corridor – Los Angeles County, CA
ADVANCING ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE
To support the extension of the Metro E Line light rail transit (LRT) in East Los Angeles, TransLink prepared sections of the environmental assessment (CEQA and NEPA), including the early planning work (e.g., alternatives analysis) and transportation impact technical reports. TransLink was responsible for developing the project’s purpose and need, alternatives, and transit and parking sections. The EIR was finalized and approved in 2024.
Metro Coordinated Plan Update – Los Angeles County, CA
TAILORING SOLUTIONS FOR COMMUNITIES
TransLink served as a Prime Consultant for Metro’s Coordinated Plan, a federally required plan for FTA Section 5310 transportation funding for seniors and persons with disabilities. TransLink managed the 9-month project, developing technical information and analysis, and facilitated outreach efforts on transportation needs and preferences across LA County. This project was successfully delivered on time and within budget for both plan updates in 2021 and 2025.
North Hollywood to Pasadena BRT – Los Angeles County, CA
USING EVALUATION TO SCREEN ALTERNATIVES
This 16-mile Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor will connect the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys with faster transit service between LA’s North Hollywood and Pasadena communities. TransLink evaluated potential stations along the corridor using criteria related to transit-oriented communities (TOCs), land uses, First/Last Mile (FLM), and population/employment densities. This information was used to support the screening of station locations. A locally preferred alternative (LPA) for the Project was approved in April 2022.
Vermont Transit Corridor – Los Angeles County, CA
ADDRESSING TRANSIT & PARKING CONCERNS
Operating along 12.4 miles of Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles, the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) locally preferred alternative (LPA) will improve access to opportunities and enhance connections to the regional transit network. Using a data-driven analysis approach, TransLink was responsible for technical assessments to understand project implications on ridership, parking dependencies, and station access for communities along the corridor. The Metro Board approved an LPA in 2025.
SGV Transit Feasibility Study – Los Angeles County, CA
WORKING THROUGH TRANSIT FEASIBILITY
In collaboration with the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG), TransLink supported a comprehensive plan of short-term transit upgrades and future long-term visioning projects for SGV’s 31 cities and unincorporated LA County communities. TransLink drafted key informational documents for the study, including the executive summary, initial screening report, project definition report, comparative evaluation report, and community outreach report.
Southeast Gateway Line (formerly WSAB) – Los Angeles County, CA
- DELIVERING LARGE CORRIDOR TRANSIT PROJECT The Southeast Gateway Line (formerly known as WSAB) is a 20-mile corridor connecting downtown Los Angeles to Artesia. TransLink has been involved from the early planning stages in 2015 to the ground-breaking for pre-utility work in October 2024. Responsible for planning and evaluating project alternatives, TransLink developed the study corridor and mobility problem definition reports, supported stakeholder coordination activities, and authored multiple chapters of the EIS/EIR. The Metro Board approved the Final EIS/EIR in 2024.
City of Charlotte’s Strategic Mobility Plan - Charlotte, NC
STRATEGIC VISION & MULTIMODAL SOLUTIONS
The Charlotte Strategic Mobility Plan (CSMP) defines a 5- to 10-year strategic vision to enhance mobility and leverage transportation investments to support community goals. TransLink was responsible for project initiation and management, definition, vision and strategy, prioritization and evaluation, and reporting. As part of Charlotte’s Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan, TransLink led community and stakeholder engagement in identifying bikeway and greenway connections based on safety, connectivity, and demand.
New South End Light Rail Station Design – Charlotte, NC
EVALUATING TRANSIT STATION DESIGN
Along the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) light rail LYNX Blue Line (South Corridor), a new South End Station is being designed to expand service and access to local communities. TransLink served as the Planning Lead for the station alternatives, presenting a thorough assessment of three potential station locations. Recommendations were based on stakeholder and public feedback and included land use compatibility, safety, access, connectivity, operations, constructability, and costs to address the community vision and goals.
