Services

TransLink Consulting, LLC provides a depth of transportation-related consulting services to private- and public-sector clients. For these efforts, we have managed or taken a significant task leadership role to ensure the timely and quality completion of work. Our experience and expertise include:

Project Management

We pride ourselves on working as a project manager or task lead for over a decade in the transportation industry. Our staff has over 75 years of collective experience leading, managing, and overseeing transportation projects for our clients.
Alternatives Analysis
Based on a project's goals, objectives, purpose, and need, we use technical analysis to understand the benefits and impacts of alternatives. Our ability to clearly describe this planning process helps decision-makers understand the tradeoffs to their communities and the advancement of their projects.

Mobility and multimodal strategic plans

Short- and long-term mobility and multimodal plans allow agencies to enhance and build upon existing programs. We lead strategic planning, articulating our clients’ transportation vision and developing solutions that address the public's needs.
Transit Planning
From studying commuter rail to developing a new local bus service, we work from initial feasibility studies through environmental clearances to final design. We support high-profile transit planning projects for LA Metro and Charlotte (CATS).

Station Area Planning

Planning for transit systems includes preparing for their station locations and amenities. We are familiar with all aspects of station planning, such as first/last mile connections, park-n-ride demand, ridership estimates, operations plans, and bicycle/scooter/microtransit facilities.
Site Access and Circulation Planning
Without convenient multimodal access, the investment in new transit lines and stations cannot be realized. By understanding the effects of parking, pedestrian, bicycle, and other modes of access, we create plans for universal access that are both strategic and implementable.

Environmental Planning/Clearance

To comply with NEPA and CEQA, projects must be reviewed for potential impacts on existing and future conditions. We provide technical analysis and support environmental documentation for transit, highway, bicycle, and pedestrian projects.
Parking Demand and Analysis Studies
The comprehensive management of parking conditions is critical to the success of neighborhoods and communities. Our expertise in parking demand, supply and revenue, best management practices, operation, economics and elasticities, fee programs, and administration strategies provide support to establish new policies and programs.

Active Transportation Planning and First-Last Mile Studies

We understand the importance of developing implementable treatments for bicyclist, pedestrians, and other vulnerable users. Our active transportation planning work includes evaluating complete street designs in support of local and regional mobility plans.
Operations Analysis
Working with our agency partners, we develop operational improvements to maximize the utility of existing transit systems. We also support the creation of operational plans, modeling, and scenario development for future bus and rail systems.

Funding and Grant Applications

Grant writing must document a clear proposal that blends purpose and need with actions and the identification of benefits. We help agencies in California and North Carolina prepare for funding opportunities at the local, state, and federal levels.
Policy Formation
Policy formation considers modifying existing policies and developing new policies to achieve specific goals. We understand how to craft policy language so our clients have a clear path to executing their organization’s goals and objectives.

Public Involvement and Outreach

Engaging stakeholders, agency staff, decision-makers, and community members is critical to every transportation project. We not only lead and facilitate workshops, community presentations and focus groups, but also develop a range of information-gathering efforts, from local site-specific interviews to county-wide customer experience surveys.

Offering comprehensive expertise for various projects, such as transit and multimodal development, market assessments, strategic planning, grant writing, and beyond.
